Though the best advice to overcome dry and flaky skin is to keep the body hydrated by drinking lots of water, and improving on your skincare routine. Trust me, that’s the biggest advice that I will give anyone with dry skin, though there are some safety tips that you should know too. First, let us get to see how your skincare routine should look like.
,1.wash your skin with mild and warm water
You wouldn’t want to strip your skin off the essential oils that will keep it dewy and smooth and that is why you should go for lukewarm water instead of hot water. Get a mild soap and gently wash your face with it and rinse it with lukewarm water.
2.Make use of a micellar water cleanser
I have always made it known in my post that you should get to know your skin before buying a product. But don’t worry I have the best cleanser for your skin type.
Micellar water is formulated to get rid of dirt, oils under the skin, unclog pores and completely remove dead skin cells and makeup residues on the skin.
This cleanser is formulated for all skin types and it works just fine.
All you have to do is find a face wipe and add some cleansers to it, and then gently wipe it across your face. When the skin seems dry and sensitive over time I will advise that you use this cleanser to soothe your skin.
3.Make sure to exfoliate once a week
Do you know why your skin looks dull and flaky? It is because dead skin cells have been locking on your face. So what should you do? Simple find an exfoliator like Face scrub and watch out for how it reacts on your skin and go for Loreal Paris pure-sugar nourish and soften face scrub. It will make your skin look smoother, dewy, and more comfortable.
4.Don’t slack on moisturizing
Moisturizing is for everyone regardless of your skin color or skin type. All that matters is that does with dry skin should follow up with moisturizing after coming out of the shower.

As much as you drink water, it is also mandatory to use a cream, ointment in the day and night as said by AAD.
The truth is that ointments and cream are better moisturizers for people with dry skin and they are more effective than lotions and before you buy your moisturizer, I will suggest that you look out for ingredients like;
- Jojoba oil
- Lactic acid
- Hyaluronic acid
- Shea butter
- Mineral oil and petrolatum.
I have done the work for you I strongly recommend cerave AM facial moisturizing lotion with sunscreen 3 FI OZ and Vanicream moisturizing with pump white fragrance free,16 ounce. They are formulated with most of the listed above and make sure that you apply more moisturizer to your skin after taking your bath.
5.Always wear a sunscreen product
Whatever your skin type and color, you should always wear a sunscreen product with SPF 30 and SPF 15 if your skin is darker.
When you are directly exposed to the sun, there are some damages your skin is exposed to like; sunburn, dark patches, wrinkles, premature aging of the skin, and even cancer.
FDA(Food and drugs Administration) made it known that it is not even about wearing a sunscreen product alone, you should try as much as possible to stay away from the sun, seek shades, and re-apply your sunscreen product every hour you spend in the sun.

My advice to you is; don’t step out of the house if you don’t wear a sunscreen product. Rub it into your face 10 minutes before stepping out and don’t forget to take it along with you.
If your skin tends to be acne-prone, textured, or breakout, a toner will be great on the skin. it works just like an exfoliator it will remove dead skin cells, eradicate every unwanted oil under the skin that could lead to horrible breakouts, and eventually smoothen out the skin. it can be used every day to clear up textured on the skin and eradicate horrible acne.
